Certain hazardous materials, in limited quantities, are exempted from the obligatory labeling, marking, and document preparation mandates delineated in the Dangerous Goods Regulations. These exemptions are stipulated within the Air Waybill (AWB) alongside a precise description of the exceptional quantities of hazardous materials involved, and the precise number of packages containing them are explicitly stated.
The application of an indicative label on the exterior surface of the package, explicitly denoting the above mentioned circumstance, suffices as an adequate measure for packages containing exceptional quantities of hazardous materials..

Substances listed in the table under E1, E2, E3, E4 and E5 may be transported regardless of the dangerous goods regulations when the maximum quantities of the inner and outer container are as specified and when appropriate packaging is used.
Transport of Dangerous Goods in Limited Quantities by Air
In order to ensure the safe air transportation of dangerous goods, specific requirements must be met by their packages, including specialized manufacturing, successful completion of designated tests, and adherence to prescribed conditions. Packages that have successfully undergone UN tests are referred to as UN-type packages. However, it is worth noting that certain dangerous goods, when transported in limited quantities, can be accommodated in regular packages without the requirement for UN-type packaging.
Even though limited quantities of dangerous goods are not required to be packaged in UN type packaging, it remains essential to ensure that they are packed securely using high-quality inner and outer containers. Additionally, it is obligatory to mark packages containing such limited quantities of dangerous goods with the letter 'Y'.
Moreover, it is crucial to note that the weight of the hazardous substance, prepared for transport in limited quantities, must never exceed 30 kg under any circumstances.
